Treatment

  • Topical lubricants for symptomatic relief
  • Refer to ophthalmology if lesion interferes with lid closure, encroaches on cornea, or abnormal features are present

Advice

  • Explain the diagnosis and reassure the patient
  • Small lesions may resolve spontaneously

  • Refer to ophthalmology if abnormal features are present

  • Excision of the lesion
  • Cryotherapy to the base of the lesion and the surrounding area
